Weddings – and everything surrounding them – can be super stressful. It doesn’t matter if you’re planning something small and intimate, or huge and lavish, there are bound to be road bumps, disagreements, name-calling, and/or all of the above.
But it isn’t all bad. We’re here to tell you: 1) breathe, 2) this is meant to be a celebration. That doesn’t detract from the fact that something will go wrong. Something always does. But it can be fun. And you can look back on it fondly. Most people do.
Our biggest piece of advice is don’t be afraid to tell people what you want, and don’t be afraid to ask for help. Whether it’s the small stuff, like party favours, or bigger stuff, like the hens night, there are people out there – friends and/or professionals – who can help make your life easier. Because the rest of your life will go on, as much as you’d love to hit ‘pause’ for a while.
